| I think it's fairly reidiculous that the highest prison sentence in Norway is 21 years. Which means an 18 year old guy can rape and kill 2 little girls and be out by the age of 39. | 0 @ 26-04-2005 16:09 frossen_muffin | 1,757 posts

| and more ridiculous things about finland
prices- way too high
a cd costs from 20 to 25, dvd from 25 to 30, a buss ride around 2.50, some magazine from 5 to 10, "ready-made" pizza around 4, a domain name 50/year.. | 0 @ 26-04-2005 16:20 CoreysCrusade | 163 posts
| I'm going back to DC for a year Carole, so you'd better start applying for a temp. visa lol. It's difficult for a non-US citizen
I've also heard that in Finland that it's ridiculously expensive to buy alcohol. That's probably a good thing anyway lol. | 0 @ 26-04-2005 16:21 frossen_muffin | 1,757 posts
| Alcohol in Norway is όber expensive, I'm not sure about Finland. But in Sweden, it's pretty cheap. | 0 @ 26-04-2005 16:21 carole | 27,348 posts

| what's ridiculous here is that you can't walk and lay around on the grass-areas in the central parks, it was very popular just a while ago, all the students having their fun there on sunny summer days. Well but that's banned now. At least in Riga.
Then what I hate as well is that people here are overly nationalistic. For those who don't know, in Latvia there's a large Russian minority, like 40% of all people. And well those Russians don't accept anything Latvian and call Latvians fashists, and Latvians hate the Russian occupants, and so we focus too much on that hate.
It's also ridiculous that girls dress-up for simple walking to the shop, for instance. Come to Riga if you want to see all women on the street wearing super-high heels and perfect makeup. It's kinda nice, of course, if you're a male... Hehe | 0 @ 16-05-2005 17:18 shelby827 | 1,526 posts
| it's meh. i don't particularly love the part i live in but bigger cities are cool. it definitely could be much, much worse. however, i'd like to visit some other country just to see what it's like. | 0 @ 16-05-2005 17:25 sumo | 249 posts

| our president's a freakin' monkey. | 0 @ 22-05-2005 01:06 milyn0206 | 1,695 posts
| besides the dumb@$$ we call our president, the poor education system (how going to college is a privilege not a right cuz not everyone can afford it), the economy is going down the drain, social security has people my age screwed for life, not everyone has health insurance, i could go on and on, america really sux right now (and nobody bash me for saying this cuz this is MY opinion) | 0 @ 22-05-2005 01:10 milyn0206 | 1,695 posts
| also how here in palm bay, florida they REFUSE to play songs like "american idiot" or "holiday" on the radio because they dont like how its anti-bush. this state is majority republican, so they dont wanna play anti-republican songs, and that is such B.S. for democrats like me. they dont give us the freedom to listen to certain songs on the radio because of the political affiliation of the artist (being green day) and that PISSES ME OFF! so much for this being a free country | 0 @ 22-05-2005 01:29 newfieswoman | 3 posts

| The fact that we import oil for a higher price than what we export our own oil to the united states for seems a little stupid to me. | 0 @ 30-05-2005 12:15 Welho | 121 posts
| In my city (yes, I own a city) they put down schools cause they don't have money and then they build a very expencive taxi stand when there is a bus stop just few metres away.
Well, they haven't actually build the stand yet, maybe they've forgotten it. | 0 @ 30-05-2005 12:27 Dekar | 36,123 posts
