I know the song. It's called Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen) by Baz Luhrmann.
Awesome advice, I really like it. As Senior Class Historian I'm planning on playing it at our banquet.

| So today I was looking for graduation songs and came across these postings. I went through and d/l'ed almost every one of those songs[after looking at lyrics]. And here is a list of what I thought were some of the best songs...
[first few in the order I like, but after that, any order]
1. Forever by Jason Fioto(****)[made me cry the first time I listened to it. im hoping to convince my class with this one.]
2. Graduate by Thrid Eye Blind [nobody listed it!]
3. Graduation Day by Head Automatica [again not listed on here]
4. Dream Big by Ryan Shupe [about achieving dreams. if it wasnt obvious. haha.]
5. Waiting by Green Day [great!!]
Fly Away From Here by Dropline [not a big fan of the opening vocals, but gets better as song goes on.]
Graduation Song by Dave Matthews Band
Let Them Be Little by Billy Dean [not really graduation but about growing up. like somebody else said, mothers/parents will cry.]
The Adventure Final by Angels & Airwaves [singer is Tom from Blink 182 =)]
In This Diary by The Ataris
This Is Your Life by Switchfoot
For Me This Is Heaven by Jimmy Eat World
The Freshman by Verve Pipe
Graduation Day by Ghoti Hook & Value Pac
These Are Days by 10,000 Maniacs
Oh How the Years Go By by Amy Grant
No Such Thing by John Mayer
Give It Up by the Format
Its So Hard To Say Good Bye by Boys II Men
Hope the list somewhat helped.
It never hit me until today that there is less than a month of my high school career left. As much as I hate my school and my class, im going to miss being 'little'. The 'adult world' is starting to become more of a reality. Im looking forward to college, but not being able to get away with stuff is what is going to suck. Haha ok Im done. Sorry, emotions are starting to add up.
Good luck with everything. And congrats to the class of '06!!
"After a Good Year we're hitting the road"
^^class motto. has to do with the 500 tires we put in our parking lot for class prank. Oh boy. What a night. Will never forget it.

| I would have to say I personally like the Graduation song by Vitamin C best!!! | 21-05-2006 05:20 asclepius | 1 posts
| I also like "For Good" from the Wicked Soundtrack. It's about two friends' final goodbye to each other. They both discuss how each changed the other's life "for good." Plus, they apologize for any unintentional pain they caused the other. It's one of my favorite songs of all time. In fact, when the song was heard yesterday during the Senior Slideshow, I broke down and cried I'm so emotional.
But the song meant a lot to me because I made a joke about a former friend and she became really upset. I hope she will forgive me by the time graduation comes around. Also, two girls I know: Natalie and Andrea, were originally very close friends. As time passed, they strayed away from each other and found their own seperate groups of friends. Yesterday, after the Slideshow, I saw them hugging and crying in the aisle of the auditorium. I was really touched
I like the song "My Wish" by the Rascal Flatts, too. It's about a friend (or teacher?) wishing someone the best in the future and to never forget that someone loves them or where they come from. | 22-05-2006 00:50 ase0638 | 1 posts
| i will also be graduating this year, and im making CD's for all my friends, with grad songs and then songs that remind me of them-one song for each of my best friends..and i have to say, im crying right now because the songs really..well, they capture what a person is feeling, fo sho.
in my humble opinion, i would say
jason fioti
jack johnson -better when were together
ryan shupe-dream big
i will remember you-sarah maclachlan
hakuna matata (heh)
leon on me-bill withers
rent-seasons of love
our lives-the calling
and i think that some of the other songs listed are crap since ive spent 2 hours looking up the lyrics for each song listed. i dont understand why people want to have negative songs for their graduation. and our song is nickelback-photograph, and our school didnt even vote on it. it was ust chosen for us, and it was probably a really bad choice. because noone at our school likes it.
oh well, congrats fellow grads!
