thank you carole, that is what i meant by the fact that there is often no real choice ..

and still, I am not going to judge those people who need to take that difficult decision and I wish there weren't people who would like to meddle just because they think they must. This private decision is hard enough as it is.

Without saying my opinion on abortion, I agree with what you said there Carole except that it's a necessity. Only things like eating and drinking are actual necessities in our lives (and obviously, in terms of keeping the population alive, breeding). I thought it was crazy when Daniel said it. It's still a choice, just in a situation where both choices are horrible. The second high school I went to is specifically for teenage girls who find themselves pregnant and choose not to get an abortion. Therefore having an abortion can't be a necessity.

* offtopic :
I didn't go there because I was pregnant.

I didn't mean keeping the population alive, I meant, erm, keeping humans in the world.

so yea, quit thinking that abortion is just an easy thing to do when u wanna get rid of a problem. like daniel said, its not a choice, its a necessity, and no one likes it but sometimes its the only thing to do

got alot of things I want to say, but here's to start..

It's not a necessity, save for very rare circumstances. Which is why many 'bans on abortion' have not been approved, because they go directly against the decision in Roe vs Wade...

As for it being terrible on a mother, YES... most people don't understand a big fight against abortion isn't only for the unborn... but for the mental/emotional/physical roller coaster it puts the mother through... especially UNDERAGE kids that make that decision on their own..

Most kids think their parents will hate them.. I'm 23 and I was scared to tell my parents.. but my family has been completely supportive. They don't think they want or need a child, but in many cases it helps them grow up, deal with responsibility.. there have been so many disappointed couples out there that have had an adoption lined up with a mother that thought she would never want a child, and then when it's born they actually want to keep it... because when it's a baby, living and breathing... it's alot harder to give it up.

Most people just want that chance to be able to happen... mothers to not feel so alone with their pregnancy.. for all the negative energy pressed on unwed mothers, and underage mothers, to dissolve. For women to have the chance to decide if they want to be a mother or not.. rather than aborting a 'fetus' or an 'embryo'. Because at that point you aren't deciding if you want to be a mother, you are thinking through a mindset that can't even grasp what being a 'mother' is.

I don't think alot of women realize how much an abortion will effect them until it's over and done. Besides all of the heath risks that come along with such procedures, especially the later in the term.. many younger girls have feelings of inadequacy if they are forced into abortions (by either parents or partners).. and so many other things.

It's just.. it shouldn't be a convenience.. no matter how hard the short term decision may be... and it shouldn't be something that women can so easily be forced into. I think it holds alot of weight in why people are so irresponsible now days... everyone eats all this food so they are obese, then they pay to get surgery to help them lose fat, then pay to get surgery to look better after their actions have taken it's tole on their bodies..

People 'pay' to fix things constantly in their lives.. I'm just tired of their being a way out.. we are a generation of runners.. multiple generations of runners... no one deals anymore.. they just find a way out.

maybe my translation of the word that i had in mind into necessity is not adequate ..

i stick to it though that a choice with only one valid option or with no good options at all is a choice

and the problem of abortion is not only one of pregnant teens, although most of you will only see this aspect, considering the age of most people here. a lot of women around 35-45 are nowadays confronted with the problem

the problems more elder women are confronted with are completely different in my eyes.. the pregnancy is a health issue with older women, which I think is one of the 'rare cases'... not so much people in their 30's but .. late 40's and 50's.. if they are able to get pregnant, many aren't able to carry the child to term with stable health.

which is why I agree to an extent with them not putting a full ban on abortion.. because there are cases that do exist where it is a necessity to abort.. but it's not a general necessity just because someone doesn't want a baby.

i have never said that it's a general necessity .. i just said that it can be a 'necessity' .. I don't know how that is in the states, but it's kind of normal here for a lot of women to get pregnant, even for the first time, at around 35-40. I am not a fan of that for many reasons, but the tendencies are that the age of parents is getting higher and higher.
