| they only people who say that dancing isnt a sport are the ones who dont do it!dancing takes so much work and energy...plus you have dance teams and dance competitions...dont you?and you wear a uniform(some of the time)i would say dancing is definitly a sport | 23-03-2005 00:32 Egginator | 15,399 posts
| i dont know if it's a sport.
ballet certainly isn't- that's an art. an art that takes loads of energy and talent yes. but i think it's an art.
more modern forms of dance seem more sporty...but i think a lot of it would be first an art and then a sport. | 23-03-2005 00:38 SweetSare | 3,009 posts
| I've done dancing throughout all my life and I think it is a sport, I mean I do not consider dancing as a hobby and it is a form of exercise. I love dancing | 17-07-2006 04:11 BANANAZ | 22 posts

| dancng is definatly a sport. it takes up so much energy, you need suitable clothing for it (its not like you can wear sandles isit????) and also, it is like so much fun but there are competitions all over for it. its a talent like kicking a ball around a piece of grass. not everybody can move to the music. believe me. i live in a house where 4/5 have two left feet | 10-08-2006 14:29 LiLmsRACER | 16 posts
| the definition of SPORT is: "an individual or group competitive activity involving physical exertion or skill, governed by rules, and sometimes engaged in professionally" and the last time I saw my sister dance, i'm pretty sure there was some competitive activity involving pysical exertion or skill, there were rules, and sometimes ( a LOT of times!) it is engaged in professionally! dancing IS a SPORT, and ANYone who tells u otherwise is a complete FOOL. | 10-08-2006 16:08 ZzZzZzZ |

| of course it's a sport because, like everyone said before, it's a physical activity that demands a lot of energy and practise. the only ones who'll say that it's not a sport are definately not dancers and have never seen a dance competition. | 10-08-2006 17:32 _cattie_ | 122 posts
| sure its a sport, why not? How much do u move when u dance depends of whatkind of dance are u talking about. But in any case it is a sport. | 23-08-2006 00:46 badgirl1259 | 190 posts
