In this thread I'll describe the new LSI penalty system. LSI has grown into an enormous community during the last couple of years. Thousands and thousands of users comminucate each day through the forum, chatroom and messenger system. Between all users who come to this site with good intentions there are always a those who come here just to get attention in a bad way, insulting others or try to mess up this site. LSI runs a hard policy on these group of people, misbehaviour results in a ban of the members account.
Untill today the banning is done by hand. But this method is outdated, for both the visitors and moderators a clearer system is required. And here it is, the penalty system.
Ok, what is it? Moderators can rate forum posts and chatroom messages for violations: rude language, spam, insults, etc. Each of these violations has a different weight. If a moderator rates your post on one or more of these categories, you'll get penalty points. When you get more points then the limit, you'll get a temporary ban. Each day the points become lower again and when the total is below the limit you can login again.
How much you're away from the limit is mentioned in the 'penalty level' on your profile. The level is expressed in a percentage how much you're away from a temporary ban.
NOTE: The actual ban is not enabled yet. So it is possilble your level is above 100% while you can still login. The ban part is still under construction. |

| I marked you for 86 points, Cyd. That's the maximum anyone can get at once. | 13-03-2005 15:38 PrincessIrish | 11,808 posts
| I'm slightly worried about this now, so if my posts are seen as spam they'll be marked as that by a mod? | 13-03-2005 15:42 C4L |

| you shouldn't be worried.
if you don't spam. | 13-03-2005 15:46 Cheater138 |

| I think the spam option will be more used for people who post multiple threads or posts, or posts with rediculous content. Like a ton of smileys or nonsense "hioghsd" type stuff. It most likely won't be used for say, a normal post in randomness, that thread is all spam, just not really bad spam. | 13-03-2005 15:52 the_Apocalypse | 14,257 posts
| But what if a mod breaks those rules? Can other mods do this to eachother aswell then? | 13-03-2005 15:57 the_Apocalypse | 14,257 posts
| And how many times can 1 post be rated? Once? or can every mod rate it, so that you can get like 300% after one post? | 13-03-2005 15:57 Dekar |
 36,178 posts
| Once per post. | 13-03-2005 15:58 Dekar |
 36,178 posts
| Oh, and you can get close to 1000% in just one post anyway. I made no typo there. One thousand percent. | 13-03-2005 15:59 the_Apocalypse | 14,257 posts
| And how do I have to do that? |
