I'd like to hear your opinions about these two bands

The Battle of the "LP"'s

Linkin Park v. Lost Prophets

Both use DJ's in their bands and both as classified as "rock" bands.

I think Lostprophets is better for a number of reasons:

Firstly, Lostprophets have songs that are based on more than just one theme as in Linkin Park.

Secondly, the Lostprophets' DJ actually does more DJing in their songs (quite effectively too) than Linkin Park's DJ.
Sure both are quite good DJ's, it's just that the DJ sound is used much more effectively than in Linkin Park's songs.

#3: The lyrics in Lostprophets are more meaningful because they arn't just anst-filled every single time as in Linkin Park these days.

#4: The lead singer in Lostprophets (Ian Watkins) actually sings most of the songs unlike Chester who screams nearly all the time.
Sure, Chester has been proven he can sing through the song "My December", but compared to "Sway", in which Ian displays his vocal talents (from the Lostprophets' mainstream album, Start Something), it really isn't a contest.

#5: The Lostprophets' guitarists are SO MUCH better than Linkin Park's.
Linkin Park's guitarists = yippee, play the same three strings over and over just in a different order each time!
While, if you listen to some of Lostprophets' underground work, the guitar work is 2nd to none and enhances their songs so much.
(Sure, there's great guitar work on their mainstream album but in my opinion, it shows more in their underground tracks e.g. the song ' Five is a Four Letter Word').

Dude, sounds like you've made your mind up for sure, and guess what...I will have to agree with you, I initially thought to myself "hmm defo Linkin Park!" but now reading that, you convinced me otherwise.

Lost Prophets it is! They get my vote!

yes, I know, you even criticised them esp. Ian for wearing too much makeup these days!

and yes, I agree with the 2nd statement.

They're just similiar in the fact that both bands are 'made out of the same ingredients' i.e. a DJ, 2 guitarists and a singer.

Linkin Park is a good band. I'm just not happy with their new CD collision course. My favorite album by them is Meteora.

Lost Prophets - the only songs I've heard by them are "Last Train Home" and "Wake Up". I don't really have an opinion about them.
