| Hey Fishmunky, I read your post...got nothing but respect for you buddy.
However I'm gonna expand my reasons for some of the things I said and in respect to your opinion, I'm going to give you my view
First off, I reckon Shawn Michaels does deserve to become the World Champion. I would seriously love to see Shawn hold the title rather than Triple H. Back in 2002, he won the first ever Elimination Chamber match only to lose it a mere month later. His championship run was cut short, so I don't know if he could have been successful as the champion. I would like to think so, but I guess we'll never know. I was impressed with his first run as WWE Champion back in 1996, and I was expecting the same thing when he won it at Survivor Series. But the WWE Has a knack of stuffing things up eh?
Randy Orton in my mind also does deserve to wear the World Championship around his waist, though I fully agree with you about Benoit's end to his title run. It would have sucked if Triple H beat Benoit after all his losses to him in various matches, so they pushed Randy Orton into the spotlight. Randy however was getting a nice, fanbased reaction, despite being a heel (and you can almost tell when a babyface fuse has been lit- look at Batista, his one was SO OBIVIOUS) and thus he got that shot. Then he gets screwed over a mere month later and Triple H is the champ. Randy Orton has a lot of great potential in the ring, and I like what I see with Orton. His matches are very interesting (I won't bother mentioning his PPV matches with HHH, since the outcome is so obvious) and I've enjoyed watching him on TV. However, I am sick and tired of all the push downs that he's recieving...esspecially with HHH.
The Randy Orton Concussion storyline was SO PATHETIC...Please don't remind me about that one
All in all, I agree with the majority of what you said. A lot of respect to you
(And yes, I missed that US title match on SmackDown. I don't bother watching it...and besides...for John Cena to become WWE Champion, he had to lose the WWE US Title. In fact the only WWE Superstar in the WWE's history to hold 2 important titles simultaneously was The Ultimate Warrior, who won the WWE Championship and the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WWE WrestleMania VI, 1990)
John will win...Batista is in question | 0 @ 05-03-2005 17:42 fishmunky | 20,420 posts

See this is my point of contention ion the issue...i Think Cena should be made to be unstoppable going into wrestlemania...so much so that the U.S Title looks like it means just as much to Cena as the World Title...by having him lose the U.S tile (to Orlando Jordan no less, the one man in the company who has nothing to earn a title shot, and thus giving him an excuse to main event against Cena as he can claim he beat Cena for the U.S title) Cena looks weakened going into WM...and in my opinion thats dropping the ball...he looked so good after that NWO match with Angle that having him lose the title 2 weeks later to Jordan makes absolutely no sense to me if they want him to be a credible threat to the World title | 0 @ 05-03-2005 18:23 Dekar | 36,121 posts
| I wonder if this Michaels/Angle angle (heehee) will see one of them jump shows. That would be nice to see Michaels get the hell off Raw. Sadly, Michaels probably won't because he's a WWE/F product and that's what Raw represents. Smackdown has all the WCW titles and style of wrestlers, but it'd be funny to see him become part of JBL's club of rich Texans. lol At least change Michaels' entry music. I mute the TV when he comes out. Speaking of entries, why did they take the pyro out of Orton's? I liked his entry before it became effectless as it is now.
As for Benoit, I could never understand why they had pushed him so hard to become the champ, you know, the whole 18 years, lifelong dream blah blah blah, and take it away so soon. Everytime he talks about it, he says "I worked hard for 18 years to become the World Heavyweight champion." and he talks about being the champ as if he actually had a legitimate-lengthed reign! He was the champ for what, 6 matches? He never even seems angry about it. Talk about doing a bad personality job with him. I find Benoit boring anyway, and he's not important in any series of events on Raw anymore. Jericho neither, though I'd like to see him start having some purpose again. When he was advertising his 6-man ladder match, I was hoping he'd say Elimination chamber, but I guess 6 men and a ladder is a precedent too. And I've recently been looking into Fozzy and I've liked what I've heard so far.
Orton didn't really deserve his title reign or any of his shots either. Anthony's right. He doesn't have that champion look. His only connection to the scene was that he got by a few matches and HHH betrayed him, so they were able to keep him in the hunt since he had such a close connection to HHH and the title.
I think Cena winning the WWE Championship is the exact reason he lost the US championship to jordan. Since he's got a WWE title shot, there's no reason for him to go after Jordan anymore, and the US championship will have an opportunity to enter some other circles of characters. Cena's probably going to dominate his last few matches before WM, and in a way which will push his credibility back up to contender status.
As for Batista and HHH, again I say I want to see Batista win, and a real win too.

Smackdown is the B show...michaels never lost a title cleanly in his prime...theres no way he'll jumping to smackdown to be a part time wrestler...smackdown already has the undertaker for that

he won it in March, lost it in August...i saw thats a fairly legitmate reign...triple H has had from september until now...just as lengthy as benoit's

6 man ladder match will have to be for the I.C title...so jericho, beniot, christian, edge, benji...and hopefully matt hardy
and fozzy owns...the new album is amazing

Cena will win...in spite of the fact that i think they've blown this angle already...and HHH will retain...unless they decide that Batista as a dominant champ on Raw will work (and when i say dominant..i mean DOMINANT...hes gotta be untouchable | 0 @ 05-03-2005 19:54 Dekar | 36,121 posts
| Okay well I never claimed my memory to be the best thing in the world. Benoit's title reign seemed short to me.
I think the ladder match will go the same direction as the rest of the matches. Half-Raw, half-Smackdown, I doubt it'll be a title match. I can't see Jericho as a title contender. He's just floating, as are Christian, Edge, and Benoit. Plus, I don't see Benoit in a ladder match right now. That's just what I think though.
And I still understand what you mean by Cena having lost an edge with his loss to Jordan, but it wasn't a legit win so I don't tihnk he's lost any momentum. If he wins big in the next couple of weeks before Wrestlemania, he'll be right back to where he was. If he loses one or two again, he's not going to win at WM either. | 0 @ 05-03-2005 23:36 minastirith | 2,451 posts
| John Cena had to drop the US Title at some point. Had he held on to the belt after Wrestlemania 21, it qould have become a joke. It was bad enough when Hunter united the World and Intercontinental belts, but it would have been worse for Smackdown because it lacks any sort of star power. If Batista goes to Smackdown and then Brock returns, Smackdown's future is safe. But they must stop relying on old stars. They never bothered to focus on development while Rock and Austin were carrying the company, and now WWE as a whole(specifically Smackdown) is suffering from an immense lack of talent. | 0 @ 06-03-2005 01:16 minastirith | 2,451 posts
| Just watched the new ad for Wrestlemania with Eddie & Booker- it is hilarious! | 0 @ 08-03-2005 16:21 gothicvampire42 | 226 posts
| I like the one with John Cena and JBL. I could feel the tension. It was cool | 0 @ 10-03-2005 23:37 Dekar | 36,121 posts
| Well I was dead wrong about the ladder match, that's for sure. Looks to be interesting, although we already know Michaels is going to win it. How sad. | 0 @ 12-03-2005 01:08 BoxerG4sho | 22 posts
| yep back when it was WWF is was awsome with the union and the ministry of doom... stonecold owned alll ect... d-generation X was pretty cool too... once they brought all that wcw it sucked...
i can remember like the most exciting part i saw was when stonecold returned and everyone was in the ring waitin to kick his ass and he beat the spit out of everyone... of course its fake but hey its still good.
another good moment was when stonecold took mcmahon hostage in the wheelchair and mcmahon said kane would win and the undertaker won i belive... already when stonecold rescused stephanie from the undertake was pretty pimp too. | 0 @ 12-03-2005 10:00 Dekar | 36,121 posts
| I just DLed and watched this past Thursday's Smackdown, and I was surprised to hear that kurt Angle is going to have Marty Jannetty in a match. That should be interesting to see how Jannetty is doing these days. | 0 @ 12-03-2005 16:57 fishmunky | 20,420 posts

| But, Dekar, do you think that Jannetty can win? I didn't even know that Shawn Michaels was a tag team partner of his until I watched SD this past week. | 0 @ 14-03-2005 02:44 fishmunky | 20,420 posts

ya but i'll bet its because you didnt start watching wrestling til like 1997
Shawn Michaels and Marty Jennety were the Rockers...a high fllying tag team in the late 80s early 90s (yes shawn michaels has been wrestling nearly 20 years...he is that old)
they were kinda like the precursor to the hardy boyz...Jannety doesnt stand a chance against angle...it makes no sense to have him win | 0 @ 14-03-2005 02:46 Dekar | 36,121 posts
| One of my most fond memories was on Beefcake's barbershop skit where Michael's superkicked Marty through the glass. Back then I was gullible and thought wrestling was completely authentic so it freaked me out. lol | 0 @ 14-03-2005 02:52 fishmunky | 20,420 posts

word...i thought Jannety was legit scarred for life for going through the glass
in retrospect...wrestling when no ignorance existed and no internet could give you dirt...was much better | 0 @ 14-03-2005 02:55 Dekar | 36,121 posts
| Yeah, less spoilers. People know what's going to happen beforehand, hence all the signs you see in the stands.
And it was funny how wrestlers used to actually get upset in public when someone claimed it was fake. I remember Randy Savage going haywire on a talk show because the host said something about it being "exaggerated" | 0 @ 14-03-2005 02:57 fishmunky | 20,420 posts

Ya Randy was a nut
But Vader actually got arrested in Kuwait for accosting a talk show host who said wrestling was fake...brilliance | 0 @ 15-03-2005 06:11 Dekar | 36,121 posts
| Well you were wrong about Jannetty being a fat drug addict, but we DID see one there, in Jake Roberts. I never realize how old these people are now until I see them.
I was terribly impressed with Marty though! He looks to be in great shape, especially after being away from the ring for so long, and he and Shawn still have their timing down almost perfectly. Even when failing to leap to their feet. lol I was only concerned with a double-armdrag by La Resistance, I thought Marty was going to fall on his head. But kudos to La Resistance for putting them over so well too. | 0 @ 16-03-2005 04:45 fishmunky | 20,420 posts
| When they came out to the rockers theme...i regressed back to 6 years old
that was awesome...i totally thought Jannety was gonna be a huge dope fiend
twas a good raw...Jake that fat boozebag
am i the only one who thought it was retarded to have last years Wrestlemania main event at the midcard on Raw | 0 @ 18-03-2005 03:05 Dekar | 36,121 posts
| Eh, didn't bug me. What I was disappointed at was that HHH beat Benoit. I am saddened when personal records are broken. Now they can never say that HHH has never beaten Benoit. I hope Taker messes Orton up.
Speaking of Orton, I like how they're turning him slowly. His face period never really worked. I mean look at him. Can you look at his smile and not want to punch him? | 0 @ 18-03-2005 03:31 x0babiejennz | 4,502 posts
| Err yeah...wwe...I dont watch it but if you've ever to see a wrestler "Kid Rock", at least thats what I think his name was, yep hes my cousin. I think hes only been on a few times though. | 0 @ 18-03-2005 03:38 x0babiejennz | 4,502 posts
| What an idiot I am.
His name is "Kid Kruel" | 0 @ 18-03-2005 06:46 fishmunky | 20,420 posts

I hate Randy Orton on principle
he's athletic, good looking, bigger than me and has had everything handed to him....but for the good of the company he has to win |
