| i don't have a problem with the type of champ JBL is, my problem is with the fact that you could put the strap on either one of the Bashams and have a better wrestler!? JBL is one of the WORST wrestlers on the roster, his chances of being a TAG champion this time last year were 0 and now he's the longest reigning WWE champ in a decade!?! ugh. but Cena as champion *cries* JBL is the lesser evil! SD has a way better midcard than RAW and even Raw's high card is pretty effed up right now, they're using all the wrong people but also using them badly, Batista is the only thing that's gone right all year. Benoit's build up for mania20 was epic and brilliant, i commend the WWE for that, but now they've lost that magic. HHH is too dominant on Raw, and the 2005 title picture on SD is bleak to put it nicely. i think i might just stop watching it until it improves again. bah.

| I am... but I'm getting pissed off with it. I watched No Way Out until 4am last night, to see that prick JBL retain yet again. He's never won fairly, not once...
Benoit is not being used properly, nor is Guerrero. Orton is over-utilised, they've wrecked his Legend Killer status by allowing him to lose twice to Hunter. Orton is hopeless, he doesn't deserve the title. Batista is having a very good push, which they've done very well. I reckon he should fight his mentor Hunter for a Raw title match. | 22-02-2005 04:14 Dekar | 36,173 posts
| I just wanted to say that after seeing all the bad guys get away with everything and having the last laugh on so many Raw shows, it's beautiful shows like tonight's that bring a tear to my eye. | 22-02-2005 04:31 jsimms52 | 24,667 posts
| i wish the didnt turn Bradshaw into JBL
him and farooq drinking beer, smoking cigars and playing poker in the back all the time...that was awesome
he just doesnt cut it for me anymore
too many new wrestlers as well...i stop watching for a year and i come back and ive heard of like half of the wrestlers...i caught Royal Rumble though...that was alright..well just the actual Royal Rumble itself...not really any other matches cuz ive actually never watched an RR match live before
id like to get into it again maybe but theyve got to get rid of a lot of people before i start watching it..
especially Smackdown which ive never watched a full episode of before | 22-02-2005 04:34 Pandora | 23,369 posts

| Batista/HHH as mania's main event... *cries*
well i saw No Way Out and i'm glad they're finally letting London show what he can do.
Cena actually impressed me! Cena/Angle was better than i thought by miiiiles!
the cruiserweight match was easily the best on the card, they let the match do the talking and tell the story, that's the art that seems to be lost nowadays. i hope London wins the title at Mania.
the tag match was well done too, very nice work by Rey and Eddie.
it was actually a good ppv! (for once) | 22-02-2005 23:23 Pandora | 23,369 posts
| augh. I don't believe in spending 40 bucks to watch people dance around in the ring.. I would just whether wait and hit the highlights the next show.

| I do, but I don't. Small downloaders like us don't hurt anyone. It's the mass-sharing people who host their own torrent servers that are the real problem. | 23-02-2005 13:29 Rise | 566 posts
| Personally I think the WWE has been in decline since the turn of the decade and the end of the 'Attitude' era.
It has never managed to replace Stone Cold or The Rock, who were carrying the show more than anybody realised at the time. There hasnt to my mind been a decent rivalry in years, and this is what the business truely thrives on.
The 'stars' of today just lack the presence of the older legends, and they aren't helped by the deteriorating story writing. Those older names that do remain; Triple H, Undertake, Angle etc get nothing to play off of because the talent coming though entertainment wise is so weak. | 24-02-2005 07:24 fishmunky | 21,928 posts
| A 'Stone Cold' or a 'Rock' doesnt happen over night...how long was the rock and stone cold in the mid card before they broke through, ditto with hawn michaels and bret hart...you ant force developing talent because thats what they are...developing
Batista, Orton...not ready for the main event...hell i dont even think Cena is ready for the big show
a guy like edge...been in the company since 97...he can make it, as can jericho, beniot...if given the right hook
you force guys to the fans and they'll turn on him...for example i think orton sucks large, lousy gimmick, lame moe set...hes generic wrestler #345...orton can be replaced by shawn o'haire, mark jundrak or Chris Masters and no one would notice
given time o develop...and oron could be phenomenal...look at Shane Helms...from 3 count to the hurricane...th guy will never get out of the midcard...but he's entertaining as hell | 24-02-2005 09:48 Rise | 566 posts
| Sorry, I should have clarified.
I know it takes time for the Brand Leaders to assume their status - Stone Cold wouldn't be Stone Cold without the history behind him going back to KOTR against Jake the Snake, likewise the Rock and his days in the Nation going on to eventual birth as People's Champion.
Im also not saying that the talent their can't make it, Im just agreeing that they aren't ready yet.
My point was the WWE fell flat because it was too reliant on these two names to carry them. While they should have been developing support talent, they just kept flogging their couple of existing stars, until Stone Cold got fed up and walked, and Hollywood started paying attention to the Rock who just as quickly realised where the real money and fame was.
The immediate result? Panic leading to disasters like Goldberg, an existing name but one with no history relative to the franchise so not much better than introducing new talent in terms of crowd endearment. And Brock Lesnar. Who they pushed so hard down fans' throats its no wonder they threw him back up again. Were you honestly surprised when he walked aswell?
Still more panic. Stone Cold is redrafted and stories worked around him despite the fact he cant wrestle so is demoted to essentially being a name to pull the crowds. A wrestling show with storylines around someone who can't wrestle? That wasnt going to last. They pay the Rock megabucks to comeback for the odd PPV, the fans react understandably so logically he turns heel. Problem? Now decent quality face to take the belt.
They're still making the same mistake of relying on names as opposed to developing new names, until one day this fact strikes someone broadside, and they then decide to flood the card with 'developing' talent to rectify this. The only problem here is that to 'develop' this talent they still try to push them alá Lesnar, giving no time to create character and and as you say creating a factory line of generic templates, demoting more established and arguably better entertainers further down the card as they go.
And hence we arrive at a show waist deep in transition, but ultimatley very poor in quality at this moment in time. | 24-02-2005 10:06 almightybob | 3,000 posts

| Yes, I am a huge WWE Fan. I loved wrestling since I was a young child growing up and I have loved it since.
However, as much as I love Wrestling, the sport has a lot of wrongdoings that I really don't like. Infact, I would say that the WWE as of late has a lot of problems that they need to fix up immediately. Here's a few of them:
1) The Lack of a strong WWE Champion- Back in the day, whomever was the WWE Champion was the man who was worthy of being there and was the man for the hour and made the show awesome. The Rock, Stone Cold, HBK, Bret Hart and HHH are strong WWE Champions, and made great WWE Viewing on TV. JBL sucks as the WWE Champion and makes Smack Down a bad show.
2) The Main names are on one show: Smack Down only has a few great WWE Superstars that are worth going to see like Undertaker, John Cena, Guerrero etc and that's it. WWE RAW has HHH, HBK, Orton, Benoit Jericho etc which makes WWE RAW a better show than Smack Down. WWE Talent is unevenly distributed.
3) Champion Repitition: Come on now and be honest: who is sick and tired of HHH being the World Champion? He's a great champion and is worthy of being there but he's been the champ too many times. Orton had a hard fought match with Benoit last year and he won the title from him, only to lose the belt to HHH a mere month later and loses it easily. Give the title to someone else man, instead of HHH...Hell, I don't give a damn if the Coach or Christy Hemme or even Eugene is the World Champion- as long as it's not HHH
4) Boring PPV Matches: Last years GAB (Great American Bash) was the WORST PPV EVER. Boring matches and uninteresting matches. What happened to the good old matches like The Rock Vs Austin at WM X7 or Bret Hart Vs Piper at WM VIII?
These are just a few points. The WWE are making bad decisions consistantly than right ones.
P.S: ice_white_tiger is right- RANDY ORTON RULES!!!!!
LONG LIVE THE RKO | 24-02-2005 14:00 Dekar | 36,173 posts
| Someone said it earlier, they dropped the ball with Orton. They pushed him far too long for nothing in the end. He's out of the championship picture now. And I didn't like how they pretended to have other contenders just to prop Orton up. Jericho, Benoit, Edge, even Batista for awhile were all just toys to use to give Orton that over-the-top next-champion look. And they pushed him right back down.
Now they're trying to make something out of Batista, and while I like where it's going, they'd have done much ebtter to give HHH a break for a bit and actually give Orton that title and have him and Batista feud over it. As we all know, history says Orton's had Batista's number far more often than the reverse. They could make an entire little storyline out of a new heel-champion Orton: "You helped HHH overthrow me just so he could win the title back! You're gonna die!" and the becoming-face Batista: "Well I'm sorry, I was only doing what HHH told me, which I decided wasn't a good idea in the end." Oh well, I guess this is why I'm not a writer.
Another thing I wished had developed more: Shelton Benjamin and his "You can't beat me." hook with HHH. What happened to that? It just faded away and now Benjamin's the IC champ, where no one's even looking at him. Even as a relatively new guy, he's still one of the biggest and best competitors Raw has.
And to the guy who said Smackdown is a chunk-blowing machine: I couldn't agree more. I'm not sure I can name 3 characters on that show that I actually like, but I'll try...
1) The Undertaker's always been a good follow, and thank god he got off that cowboy-rock thing and back to his old self. That never got worn out, and that's a good indication that you really shouldn't change someone's character just because it's been around a long time. Another example of that is Kane. He's been the Big Red Machine forever and a day after a short stint as that dentist guy, and he's always fun to watch.
2) I've never had a real chance to see much of John Cena other than in PPV's and I'd like to see him jump shows to get more of a perspective on the guy. I was impressed by what I saw at the Royal Rumble also. He gets a thumbs up.
3) I was sad to see RVD moved over to Smackdown. His matches are always fun to watch, and that's saying something. I find it's too easy in the WWE now to just enjoy the storylines and not really ever get into any of the matches, especially since someone people have the same matches over and over and over and over*coughricflaircough*...but RVD's matches I always look forward to.
I even went to the site to check the roster for the whole show and this really is the only three guys I like from there. And I still claim I see a geographical north/south divide between Raw and Smackdown. All the mexicans are on Smackdown (Eddie, Chavo, Mysterio, Carlito, Jésus...), the really southern guys like the Big Show, JBL, Booker T, Teddy Long, Orlando Jordan, Bubba Ray, D-Von, ...maybe that's why I don't like Smackdown. Too much of a southern country appeal. | 24-02-2005 14:09 gothicvampire42 | 226 posts
| In love with Randy Orton and in love with John Cena!!!! Can life get any better than this? Yes it can because Batista is gonna take Triple H's title away from him and John Cena at WrestleMania is gonna take JBL's title away from him because both Triple H and JBL suck monkey balls!!!!!!!!!!! | 25-02-2005 03:12 The_RKO | 312 posts
| Hey Gothic Vampire 42
I don't know if this year's WrestleMania is gonna be a good one....I wanted Randy Orton to be in the main event of WrestleMania because he has a personal rivalry with Triple H, but I think it's great that Batista's gonna be in that spot. He has definately worked hard for his spot and he's earned it.
Last year's WrestleMania was pretty good actually. The main event rocked and Chris Benoit's dream of being the WWE World Heavyweight Champion came true. I also enjoyed the 2 on 3 handicap match between the Rock and Foley Vs Evolution's Ric Flair and two fomer Evolution members, Batista and Randy Orton. That RKO out of nowhere was awesome and I believe that it was from that match that made me a huge Randy Orton fan, despite the fact that he was a heel.
WrestleMania XIX was pretty good, but looking back at it, they could have done more. Brock Vs Angle for the WWE championship was a good match, but it wasn't as exciting and hypnotically entertaining as WrestleMania X Seven's WWE Championship match against The Rock and Stone Cold. That match is a great example of what WrestleMania is all about. A match full of close calls and pinfalls and non stop action...that was a WRESTLEMANIA
WrestleMania X8 could have been better...but it wasn't. The Rock Vs Hogan was good, Triple H vs Jericho wasn't.
Lets just say that for arguments sake I'll be watching and renting WrestleMania XXI...and from there, I'll probably buy it

| Cena will beat JBL
but Batista won't beat Hunter | 25-02-2005 15:38 Dekar | 36,173 posts
| That's what I was thinking. Bastista opted out of partnership with HHH, but he'll start learning how cheap HHH can be.
One thing that crossed my mind is maybe this was a big setup so HHH wouldn't actually have to face anyone at Wrestlemania for the title. Batista will purposely job for him and they're still in cahoots. We're being led to believe that Batista really isn't that stupid as opposed to what Hunter says all the time, but maybe he is. Just another idea... | 25-02-2005 15:41 fishmunky | 21,928 posts
| Whoa..swerve
thus making it the worst main event in wrestlemania history | 25-02-2005 16:30 Dekar | 36,173 posts
| I'm still hopeful that this actually is what it seems for once. I downloaded this past Monday's Raw and have watched the last 5 minutes about 40 times. I still get choked up watching it. |
