Ok, well I'm looking to be in my schools talent show coming up in about a month. I have no idea whut songs to sing tho! I'm looking for any ballad, or slightly up-tempo songs that are pretty fairly known, but not overdone in these kinds of shows. . .it would suck if somebody else did the same song. Oh, and I"m an Alto, so no extreme highnotes would be helpful. To give you a good idea of whut I'm looking for. . .

I'm thinking about doing Killing me softly by the Fugees. Its perfect for my range, and its an awesome song that everyone loves.

Hmmm. Have you ever heard 'Black Velvet'? That's an awesome song for someone in the alto range, everyone knows it but I'm pretty sure that not everyone will do it cause it's slightly more difficult to sing for most people...

my i suggest if you dont absolutly hate jazz perhaps i left my heart in san fransisco by tony bennet...its a lovely piece and no one would think about doing it or you could always do respect by aretha franklin...its a toatl classic

Or you could do Lady Marmalade, by Patty LaBelle. That one doesn't go too terribly high, I don't think...

oh breakaway by kelly clarkson would be a good one to do for a talent show. because we had a talent search thing at our school. and this one girl did that song and everyone loved it so yeah.

do -only hope- by -switchfoot- or -mandy moore- That song is so good.
Someone in our last talent show did killing me softly and got the biggest applause. But if you are looking to sing something that is not overdone do -only hope-. Its such a good song, and i don't think it is that high. You could also team up with someone and do -when you believe- by -whitney houston and Mariah Carey- or anything else by Mariah Carey if that is not too high for you, i don't really know the voice types.
